Speaking of follow-up strikes, let’s talk about the most important mechanic in Chivalry 2, Initiative. It’ll interrupt their attack and open them up to a follow-up strike. That’s why dragging left or right is imperative to hit your opponent before they hit you. As soon as you start swinging your weapon, it will damage anybody or anything it comes in contact with. Hitboxes in Chivalry 2 take some getting used to.
Dragging, however, is the best way to defend yourself offensively when another player is swinging at you. We’ll touch on the different ways to protect yourself later on. The most crucial tutorial stages to master are dragging and defending.
The tutorial gives you the option to skip sections after a few failed attempts, but it’s best to keep trying until you can master it. Thankfully, it comes equipped with some funny voice lines and animations to keep you entertained as you learn the base mechanics of Chivalry 2. First and foremost, players must play through the tutorial.
